On A Carousel is a business born out of the deep love, memories and respect the owner, Gail Kelly, has for her family; past and present.
Over a period of 3 years between 2010 and 2013, Gail lost all her close family through illness and old age.
Her mother, husband and step father were diagnosed with cancer in the space of 3 months in 2010 and over the next 3 years, tragically lost all three.
Her small family had become an even smaller following the death of her mother-in-law and close relatives, leaving her and her 3 boys as the only family left in the North West of England.
After searching to find a way to keep treasured memories of her lost family alive, the idea to turn her family heirlooms into serviceable sentimental jewellery was developed.
Gail was left some beautiful pieces of fine jewellery that were stunning but old fashioned. Leaving them in a drawer, only remembering the loved ones who once wore them when searching for something else seemed somewhat disrespectful to their memory.
Building upon her experience of recycling broken quality jewellery for herself and friends, the idea developed to offer a very unique, dedicated personal service; something she had been searching for but just wasn’t available.
